April is Animal Abuse Awareness Month (USA)

Meow everybody!

I found some more pictures for you. 

But first I want to tell you something.

I guess here in Canada "Animal Abuse Awareness Month" is in October,

but in the United States it is April.

Since a lot of the blogs I follow are American I decided to celebrate it in April with them as well.

I will put a badge for the site(s) as I find them to help protect all my distant relatives (of all shapes and sizes) around the world.

After all we need to stop abuse of any kind everywhere animal and human (although mom keeps telling me humans are animals too, sounds kind of strange to me) not just here and the States!

Hi all again.  

Mom still not feeling good but she will said she will do this for me.

She was checking her Facebook page and I was sitting beside her when we saw this first picture.

It was so cute that had to post it.

When mom tried to open up my browser(she uses Google something) and I use Firefox.

It happened again, as soon as Firefox opened, got on my site, Computer restarted.

Now my mom doesn't curse very often, but you should have heard her.

Now I know last time it did not shut down but usually it does.

Than she would sign out of hers and let me sign in.

She said well that is it and decided to give me a user account on her new computer.

Well that took forever!!!

She had to make a windows live account for me! 

Lucky I already have an email account (she gave me one from her website awhile ago that is how I got my Google account!)

Any ways here I am.

I am one lucky kitty, my mom loves me!

Hi every one!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

I know I am late but mom was real busy moving everything around.

She found my scarf from last year, and it is red with white hearts, perfect for today!!!

 I wish she wouldn't follow me with that thingy that takes pictures, a camera I think she calls it.

She took a picture of me on my way to sharpen my claws!

Now who wants to see that? MOL

 

  Here I was trying to get her to stop but nope she just kept on clicking! 

 Well this is the last one, thank heavens!

I hope she moves it before bed, this is our table, we eat off it!

Hi again!!

Me and my mom were reading Google Reader and we found this to share with you.

It was on one of the blogs mom follows, and very interesting.  I knew we could do this, not just dogs.

I am glad that there are those out there helping humans, young and old.  It is about cat therapy.

The post was on Witch Cats Blog, called "Therapy Cats" and there is a story how a cat helped a little boy. (to read just click Witch Cats Blog, it will open in on a new page for you).

After we read it we decide to share with you, we didn't want to copy here, so put link so you can read it and see her wonderful blog.

We did find another inspiring story with a twist.  A therapy cat with a disability.  His name is Scooter!

I am proud to be a cat when I see stories like this!!!  He had a broken spine when he was a kitten, the result is his back legs are paralyzed.  Now he helps humans who can not walk!!!  I am so happy that he can help them and make them feel better!

Scooter just might be the most amazing, most appreciated therapy animal to ever grace a hospital hallway. 

While institutional doors have opened to an increasing number of dogs, Scooter is a cat, and that's a rarity in therapy circles.

Therapy dogs spread joy. So does Scooter, but he also comforts and inspires.

His hind legs are paralyzed because his spine was broken two years ago when he was a kitten. Betsy Kennon, the veterinarian who saved his life, straps him into a custom-made wheeled cart that supports his lifeless legs. Then off they go to Health South Harmarville Rehabilitation Hospital.

Scooter has a special rapport with patients who cannot walk because of injuries and strokes. On one of his first hospital visits, a patient solemnly watched as the 9-pound black-and-white cat made his rounds, front paws trotting and back wheels spinning.

"If he can do it, so can I," said the woman, who had just had a leg amputated.

Scooter and Dr. Kennon are featured in the August cover story of Reader's Digest Magazine. "A surfing dog, a heroic cat and four more Amazing Pets," says the headline on the cover, which includes a photograph of a pug on a surfboard. "Healer on Wheels" says the headline above Scooter's story.

This story began two years ago when a nameless, homeless kitten was rushed to Harts Run Veterinary Hospital in Fox Chapel. A clinic client reported that his pet husky had brought home the kitten in his mouth. The horrified client thought his dog had injured the kitten

This is what I like about humans and animals working together.  So much good comes out of it!  I am a little old now to try this but if you think you (you will have to get your human to fill it out for you) or a friend may want to try this therapy work.  Here are 2 sites to check.

The Cat Adoption Centre!!!

I am so happy Mom let me do this.  Now I have never been there but Mom talks about the cats all the time, to anyone who will listen, which means she tells us all the time!!

I have seen some of the pictures but I like these because they more or less tell a story.

This is the Front of the Cat Adoption Centre at the Seaway Mall in Welland, Ontario.

As you can see it is a good size. 

 (Although I think my feline cousins would prefer to run around not stay in cages.)

Mom didn't take this first picture, it is the only one she didn't.

It came from on line at the Seaway Mall Directory. 

These next ones are the window to the hall of the mall.

This is the cost of a new kitten!

Wow!  that is a lot of money!!!

There are signs all over the the cages where there are cats with sponsors.

I really love this one, the fact that mom took this picture, proves that!

I know this one is hard to see, mom should have made sure it came out.  ;(

But it says that every Tuesday when you buy a black cat or black and white tuxedo cat

they will take $40 off the adoption fee.

Nice!!!!!!!

These are neat too!  They have reasons to adopt black cats like me and my brothers.

Funny though they do not say that in Europe that black cats are lucky and white cats are bad luck.  

Weird.

Why do humans even think cats are bad luck no matter what color they are, that is silly!!!  

These are just wonderful pictures that they have on their wall.

This is a board that shows how many cats have found humans to love!

These are just a few facts on how much it costs for an animal to stay at a shelter.

To receive medical care and spay or neutered, food etc.

And they sell things like greeting cards where all the money goes to Spaying and Neuter Clinic.

And this is asking for volunteer help.

I hope they get lots of nice people to help with my distant cousins!!!!

I was lucky, me, my brothers and sister where all born at my mom's.

So we didn't have to go to such a scary place and wait for some one to adopt us.

Those poor kitties have to live in a cage, how do they run around?  

I did notice in the pictures that my mom has,(she has A LOT OF THEM!)  That they have nice toys like us and fun things to climb.  Plus mom says they get treats just like us and they play with each other and the people watching over them.

Well I guess I better let mom go and do her thing, plus it has been almost an hour since I slept, so I need a cat nap!  Ah I finally get that!  Cat taking a a little nap!  Ah mom is so funny!!

Okay she just told me that she didn't make that up. ;(

Doesn't matter mom still funny for saying it. LOL :)

Oh yes Little Boy says he couldn't think of anything to say so I told him to tell the story when his claw got stuck, so I think he may finally post something soon.

I hope so because Sweetie won't till he does now.
