The Cat Adoption Centre!!!

I am so happy Mom let me do this.  Now I have never been there but Mom talks about the cats all the time, to anyone who will listen, which means she tells us all the time!!

I have seen some of the pictures but I like these because they more or less tell a story.

This is the Front of the Cat Adoption Centre at the Seaway Mall in Welland, Ontario.

As you can see it is a good size.
(Although I think my feline cousins would prefer to run around not stay in cages.)
Mom didn't take this first picture, it is the only one she didn't.
It came from on line at the Seaway Mall Directory.

These next ones are the window to the hall of the mall.

This is the cost of a new kitten!
Wow!  that is a lot of money!!!

There are signs all over the the cages where there are cats with sponsors.

I really love this one, the fact that mom took this picture, proves that!
;)

Mom has some of these too on the wall (she has quite a few, some have pictures of us in them)

I know this one is hard to see, mom should have made sure it came out.  ;(
But it says that every Tuesday when you buy a black cat or black and white tuxedo cat
they will take $40 off the adoption fee.
Nice!!!!!!!

These are neat too!  They have reasons to adopt black cats like me and my brothers.
Funny though they do not say that in Europe that black cats are lucky and white cats are bad luck.
Weird.
Why do humans even think cats are bad luck no matter what color they are, that is silly!!!

These are just wonderful pictures that they have on their wall.

This is a board that shows how many cats have found humans to love!

These are just a few facts on how much it costs for an animal to stay at a shelter.
To receive medical care and spay or neutered, food etc.

And they sell things like greeting cards where all the money goes to Spaying and Neuter Clinic.

And this is asking for volunteer help.
I hope they get lots of nice people to help with my distant cousins!!!!

Now if you want to see the cats, visit my mom's page, For the Love of Life! Alice's World!
She took pictures of all the cats today!!!
They are all so cute!!!!!!

Okay that is all the pictures!!!
I hope you find a cat friend there!!
I was lucky, me, my brothers and sister where all born at my mom's.
So we didn't have to go to such a scary place and wait for some one to adopt us.
Those poor kitties have to live in a cage, how do they run around?
I did notice in the pictures that my mom has,(she has A LOT OF THEM!)  That they have nice toys like us and fun things to climb.  Plus mom says they get treats just like us and they play with each other and the people watching over them.

Well I guess I better let mom go and do her thing, plus it has been almost an hour since I slept, so I need a cat nap!  Ah I finally get that!  Cat taking a a little nap!  Ah mom is so funny!!

Okay she just told me that she didn't make that up. ;(
Doesn't matter mom still funny for saying it. LOL :)

Oh yes Little Boy says he couldn't think of anything to say so I told him to tell the story when his claw got stuck, so I think he may finally post something soon.
I hope so because Sweetie won't till he does now.

A Word from Baby (my Sister)

Hi again!

My human says that I have to share this site with my brothers and sister.  That is okay with me. I really don't mind sharing with them.

So today Baby wants to talk to you.

Foxy xo

Hi everyone!

My name is Baby!  This is a few pictures of me:

I am not sure what I am supposed to say.  Foxy said to tell you a little about me.  I really wish one of the boys had gone first, than I would have a better idea what to say.

Well lets see, I am about 6 yrs younger than Foxy.  I hope our human doesn't read this to her.  You see Foxy is almost 18 years old.  But she doesn't like people to know how old she is.  LOL

I love Foxy though, and for a while I thought she didn't like me to much.  But I was wrong.  You see when me and my brothers were kittens she never played with us.   Now I realize it was because she was shy and maybe a little afraid of us.

After we moved here she was a little friendlier and would sleep with us and even play with us but not often.

Than in 2011 (Alice said it was Thanksgiving) I got real sick.  Foxy was real nice to me and would check up on me and sleep with me, although at the time I really didn't want her around.  After about 2 days our human, Alice, took me in a car (I hate cars!) to this strange building.  There were other animals there and I could here them crying and I knew that some felt the way I did.  Than she took me into a room where this man looked at me and felt around my stomach and back.

He said something to Alice I didn't understand but she looked real sad.  They took me away from her and I got real scared.  They put me on  table and this machine came down and made this weird noise.  They took me back to Alice and said more stuff I didn't understand, and I could tell Alice was really sad.

She said goodbye to me, I was so afraid!  She was leaving!!  Without me!  The people there were nice but I was so sad that Alice left.  The people tried to make me feel better but it really didn't work.  I felt so sick and her leaving made me feel worse.

They gave me something called medicine, and I felt a little better. They didn't give me any food to eat, which really was okay because I didn't feel like eating.

The next morning they came to me again and took some fur off my leg and stuck me with something sharp.  It only hurt for a second.  Than after that it gets pretty hazy.  Next thing I remember was waking up in this cage they had me in before.  I didn't feel like I did when I first got there.  Most of the pain was gone but I could still feel pain in my stomach area.  Alice was not anywhere either.  I looked every time I woke up. :(  They were nice to me though from what I could remember.

I found out later that I was there over night, and they operated on me the next day, that I was in an animal hospital.

Later that day they took me out of the cage and said something about Alice, I over heard them say her name and mine.  They put me in a carrier (I know what they are we have 3 at home)  But they still had this thing sticking in my arm!  But fell asleep again.
I felt myself moving and opened my eyes.  There she was Alice!!!  I tried to get up, but I couldn't.  I was so groggy!  Then they gave me, in the carrier, to Alice.  I could tell she was real happy to see me, but not as happy as I was to see her.  I thought how happy I would be to get home.  That she didn't leave me there.  She really did love me.

When we got to the car, she opened the door on the carrier, and to pet me, it felt so good!  I soon fell asleep again.I remember waking up a couple of times, and I think I saw Alice crying.  I didn't realize until later she was really scared that I would not get better.

When the car stopped I thought we were home, but I was wrong.

I was at another animal hospital.  Alice said something about seeing me again the next morning when she left me, that they needed to watch me and make sure I was okay.  I really tried to believe her, but why did she have to leave me?  I could get better at home.  Every time I woke up I felt better!

The people were real nice here too, and I did sleep a lot though   Finally the next morning they came and put me back in the carrier and put me in a little room. When the door opened there was Alice again!  She came in and came right to me and this man, Doctor, took me out of the carrier and showed her my stomach and said something about making sure I didn't chew it. Why would I chew my stomach???  She asked him some questions and than she picked me up!!! and asked if I wanted to go home!!!  I was so happy!!! I knew she meant it!! She gave me a hug!

She made me get back in the carrier but I could tell she was happy, and that made me happy.  I wasn't scared anymore.  When she was scared I could tell.

When we got home, the boys came over and smelled me, and of course Sweetie tried to clean me.  That's Sweetie for you!  Little Boy seemed happy to but I don't think he liked the way I smelled (like the hospital).

What surprised me the most, was Foxy.  She came over and didn't make a funny face like Little Boy or try to clean me.  She just laid down about a foot away from me.  It was like she was watching me, making sure I was okay.  When I started to get around again she even tried to play with me.  She doesn't kick me off the bed all the time anymore either.
I think she missed me.  Which means she does like me.  That makes me happy.

Well I guess I did have something to say!!  It isn't as hard as I thought it would be!!!

I can't wait to hear what the boys are going to say!!

Welcome to Foxy's World!

From left to right: Sweetie, Little Boy and Baby
Hi my name is Foxy!
I live with my younger sister and to brothers (half brothers and sister),  There is Baby (13 yrs), a Tortoiseshell cat, my sister and Little Boy and Sweetie (both about 10 yrs) my 2 brothers, they are black.  I put a picture of them above.  They like to sleep on the chair together.
I am black and my human says I am around 16 yrs old.  That is me in the basket!!!

We have all lived together since birth.  Baby went to a new home for a while but I guess she missed us because she came back.  May be she missed her mother, she was a very nice cat.  We all have different mothers but the same father.  The boys share the same mother because they came from the same litter.
My mother was pretty old when I was born, I dont think she liked kittens to much.  But she raised me and taught me what I needed to know.  Alice , my human, loves us very much.  She even lets us sleep with her on the bed.  I am the only one allowed to sleep on her, after all I am the oldest.  Sometimes I do let Baby sleep on her, but not often.
My human, Alice, has her on blog and she saw that other animals have blogs too, so she decided to let me have one!  Yippee! She promises to help me, so I hope you will like my stories.
We live in a big apartment building, it is a lot bigger then where we where born.  We are all inside cats.  Although we get to play in the hallway sometimes (it is very long).  Yesterday I was out there playing and I realized that Alice wasn't there.  It scared me for a minute but when I meowed at the door I could hear Sweetie calling her to let her know where I was.  She came right away and let me in.
There are other animals here too, a rat, Chong (he is just over 3 yrs old).  Poor guy just lost his brother about a month ago,  I check up on him all the time.  He does seem to be doing ok.

That is Chong to the right and his brother Cheech on the left
(rest his soul)

There are also 2 Degus (both boys) named Ricki and Rene.  They are weird animals not quite a gerbil (we had a couple of them a few years ago) and not quite a chinchilla (had one of those a long time ago, my mother really liked him), these animals are a cross between the two of them.  They are sort of cute for rodents but their voices  are really high pitched.  I will get Alice to post a picture of them.  Baby really likes them, she is always trying to find a way to sit with them.  At least it keeps her away from the aquarium, I swear one day she will fall in!

Well My human has lots to do, so I will let you go for now.  I can't wait to share my stories with you.
I would love to hear from you, so feel free to comment, Alice will read them too me.
I know she will not be able to write everyday for me but I will make sure she shares pictures (she is always taking pictures of us)  I swear the flash is going to blind me one day!!! LOL!
So come back often and see what I and my animal friends are up too!
